Today was a day I have been looking forward to / dreading for some time now. What does that mean you ask . . . well . . . this was the day on the calendar that my wife, Brooke, and I decided we would do her maternity photos! Last day of the Holiday break and I knew it would be either an awesome or catastrophic end to the season depending on how the shoot went. No pressure! Now any photographer out there who has done maternity shoots knows the perils of doing so. These are not your everyday family in the park having fun sorts of endeavors. I love the challenge personally but when the subject is your wife, who is a feisty fire ball on a normal day let alone 8 months pregnant and standing naked in our driveway on a below freezing day . . . well lets just say the anxiety level ratchets up a few notches. This is our last (second) pregnancy and she’s due in 5 weeks so I had to get this one right. Last time we had another photographer do the deed. This time she wanted me. Well it turns out I should have never worried. Brooke looked great and took on the shoot with a great attitude and energy. We had a great time and she was a true trooper and went for every concept we came up with, even that naked driveway thing. Thanks to Bobbie Clark for her outstanding hair and makeup once again.
