Here’s a quick look at some highlights from the wedding of Amber Morrell and Greg King. This was an absolutely beautiful wedding held at the private residence of the Bride’s aunt in Piney Flats, TN. We wish Greg and Amber all the best as they begin their journey together. This couple is surrounded by an amazingly supportive group of lifelong friends and family and we were delighted to photograph every one of them!

Just spoke to my buddy Brian Bastinelli a few days ago about our annual pilgrimage to Montana and Glacier National Park. This post never made it out of Draft for some reason but these are some fun shots from one of our trips a few years back. Hard to believe there is still snow on the ground in July! Looking forward to heading back out again this year.

Draft – Ryann Laundry

So here’s another post that got stuck in the Draft folder! I’ve got a workshop coming up in June called Summer School (ping me if you are interested) so I was looking back for workshop related posts. These images are from a workshop I held a year (or maybe even two) years ago now. I setup this demo shoot with the incomparable Ryann and we had a blast. We essentially descended upon a local laundry at 2:00 am or so and executed an impromptu photo shoot, much to the amusement of those washing their knickers at that late hour. Those in the class who opted to stay up for this had a blast. Of course, we topped the shoot off with breakfast at the Waffle house. That’s living large East Tennessee style! I’m pretty sure a 2:00 am model shoot in a laundry followed up with a world class breakfast experience at the wAWFUL house is unique to my workshops

First Friday Gallery Show at Gift Gormet and Interiors

Hello everyone from the lazy blogger Well, wedding season is in full swing now. I was going back over some old blog drafts that never got posted and ran across this one. These shots are from a First Friday gallery opening I did with the great folks at Gift Gourmet and Interiors. This event showcased some of my work printed using and ancient encaustic printing method. The prints are affixed to wood frames and then coated in multiple layers of bees wax and hand tinted. The result is a visually stunning art piece that looks timeless on your walls! Trust me the photos don’t do these pieces justice. You have to see (and feel) them for yourself.

I love the big bright eyes that these little guys have. Every session is different as these two grow and change and I’m honored to document their journey!

Ryann’s Farewell Shoot

What a bittersweet shoot! Ryann was one of the first models I shot locally for an agency here in Knoxville. We have collaborated many times since then and she always delivers stellar results on her side of the lens and is a pure joy to work with in the process. Now *my* Ryann is ready for the next big adventure and step in her life. That’s right . . . she’s off to tackle New York and I predict she’ll do great things. Ryann I will miss you . . . Knoxville will miss you . . . but we wish you all the best and can’t wait to see where you go from here. Our next shoot will be in NYC and I can’t wait for that! Until then, happy trails, safe travels, and thanks for all the great work!

Rachael & Tyler Sneak Peek

Well how fun is this! A 50′s themed wedding with a beautiful couple who could totally pull it off. This is just a sneak peek at some of the images from the beautiful wedding of Rachel and Tyler. So happy for you guys and so thankful you trusted us to capture your big day!

Their ceremony and reception took place at the perfect venue for just such and event . . . the Capitol Theatre in Maryville, TN. We had an amazing time with this couple and their families. Until just last week, Rachael and Tyler held the record for booking me the furthest out. So, we spent well over a year getting to know each other and doing some incredible shoots together including a themed engagement shoot at a 50′s diner. What am I going to do without you guys this year?!

Suffice to say they don’t come along like this every day.

Rachel and Tyler, you two are a true delight. Wish you all the best and Rachel I know we’ll be talking soon about that little surprise we have in store for Tyler

A big thanks to April Berardi and Michelle Honeycutt for the assist! Also, Rachel and Tyler agreed to have their wedding be a part of my 2012 Wedding Intensive Workshop. So, two brave souls, Dianna Allen and Jennifer Hardt, dove in the deep end head first for this one. More on that in a future post . . .
